Antitrust & Regulated Markets:
Carey covers all areas of antitrust law and regulatory matters, including litigation before the Antitrust Court (TDLC), Civil Courts, the Supreme Court, as well as advisory in investigations by the National Economic Prosecutor (FNE) and negotiation of agreements with this agency. Carey also has a positive track record in securing approvals for complex mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures with the FNE and the TDLC.

Banking & Financial:
Carey has extensive experience advising creditors, investors and borrowers in all types of banking and financial transactions. It has represented domestic and foreign clients in bilateral or syndicated loans, with or without guarantees; liability management; public and private offers and placements of capital and debt, both local and international; securitisations; project financing; structured products and operations with derivatives; among many others.

Corporate, Mergers & Acquisitions:
Carey is a market leader in structuring M&A and has been consistently recommended by important publications in this area. The firm advises a wide range of clients including multinationals, funds and foreign companies investing for the first time in Chile. In addition, Carey works with local and Latin American companies expanding their businesses throughout Chile and the region. Carey advises clients in the negotiation process, including the efficient structuring of taxes related to the transaction, investment financing, corporate governance, establishing collabourative agreements between companies such as joint ventures and strategic alliances and the development of business relationships between the different parties involved in a project.

Carey has extensive experience advising on energy projects and infrastructure works throughout the energy industry. Carey has a long tradition of representing leading Chilean and international insurers, reinsurers, financial institutions, brokers and insured businesses, on regulatory, corporate, contractual, transactional and dispute resolution matters. The firm has assisted some insurance companies, insurance brokers and reinsurance companies since their entry into the Chilean insurance market, and has continued to provide advice to them and other clients on their relation with the Chilean insurance regulator. Carey’s experience in regulatory matters includes advice in the implementation of new technologies and softwares that seek to integrate communications through many devices and infrastructure. Also, includes procedures to obtain concessions, licenses and permits for any type of telecommunications services and their modifications. This includes fixed, mobile and satellite telephony, data transmission, WiMax, VoIP, trunking, radio communications, long distance, LMDS, open and cable television, broadcasting, Internet, etc.
