A new Competition Act entered into force in Kosovo in summer 2022. The most important change introduced by the new Competition Act is the change of the merger control threshold. A concentration that involves parties that in aggregate achieve worldwide turnover of EUR 20 million and with at least one party achieving EUR 1 million turnover in the Kosovan market now triggers a filing obligation in Kosovo. The local presence of a party to the concentration is no longer an element of the merger control thresholds.
