Professional practice is rich in situations in which an individual may have been the subject of an investigation, or may have appeared in the press for an “ex” reason. Sometimes not even that: it is enough that the individual simply forms part of a certain group or category of people so that, if at any time a third party types their name on the Internet, Google will surely have to display their name to associate it with the aforementioned investigation, press release, sanction or whatever. 

As will be understood, the issue is not minor: normally Internet references correspond to situations that in some way expose the person to ridicule or public gossip.

That is precisely why in the European Union there is express legislation according to which, by filling out a simple form, the person can demand that Google remove certain personal references from its search engines.
