Damien’s own practice deals with a wide range of international commercial disputes – both in litigation and arbitration contexts. His global clients are drawn from various business sectors including: mining and resources, trade and transport, real estate and retail, financial and professional services, leisure and luxury.

Damien specialises in commercial litigation, international arbitration and insolvency litigation. His areas of expertise include:

  • a wide variety of contractual claims
  • complex cross-border debt recovery and damages claims
  • international trade, shipping, and sale of goods disputes
  • shareholders and joint venture disputes
  • acting in relation to personal injury claims (land based and marine)
  • enforcement of judgements and awards in the PRC and in Hong Kong

Damien also has significant experience with ship mortgage enforcement work, and ship arrests, for both banks and other creditors. The firm’s arbitration practice requires Damien to advise in relation to drafting and construction of arbitration references, and enforcement of awards in the PRC and in Hong Kong. Damien sits as an arbitrator and is on the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre’s (HKIAC) Panel of Arbitrators. He is a fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (F.C.I.Arb) and of the Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators (F.H.K.I.Arb).
