  • Luis D. Castro is a partner of the firm. His practice is developed in the areas of Intellectual Property, Technology and Corporate Law.
  • Luis Diego is currently recognized as one of the most experienced attorneys in Patent Law in Costa Rica and Central America. He has been invited to give talks on intellectual property in business chambers and universities, in Costa Rica and abroad. He has been a speaker on biotechnology patents and protected matter in Central America in multiple events and webinars of the American Intellectual Property Law Association. He has written about patents in Costa Rica for various publications, including Chambers and Partners. Represented the plaintiff in two of the lawsuits that created patent jurisprudence in Costa Rica. It obtained the protection of one of the first plant varieties in Costa Rica.
  • He was a consultant for Nathan Associates in the project of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Support to the creation of commercial capacity in Central America America – E-Commerce
  • Luis Diego continuously advises Costa Rican and foreign technology companies in establishing their operations, negotiating contracts for the licensing and joint development of technology, know-how and industrial secrets.
  • He founded and directed the Castro y Pal Abogados law firm for 25 years, which merged with Arias in 2019.
