Head of Patents:

Victor joined Dumont as a patent analyst in 2009 and today serves as Head of Patents. He has worked in industrial property since 2001 for many renowned local firms in the field and has acquired experience across a range of matters.

Victor’s professional practice focuses on issues related to the analysis and examination of patents, industrial designs, and utility models. Other aspects of his practice include prior art searches, clearance analysis, patentability analysis and technical opinions for litigation.

Dumont’s expertise in patent drafting makes it stand out from other Latin American IP firms, and Victor’s role as the Head of Patent is crucial in this respect.

As Head of Patents, Víctor is responsible for the development of Dumont’s patent client portfolio, as well as the supervision and the improvement of the patent-related services provided by the firm.

Víctor has published articles in some of the most recognized IP magazines on topics such as computer-implemented inventions, patentability requirements, and substantive issues surrounding the Mexican patent system.

He is a member of international associations including INTA, AIPPI and AIPF and is an active member of AMPPI.
