Lawyer and holder of the chair of Industrial Law at the University of Parma, since 2002 he has been included in international specialized guides as one of the leading Italian specialists in the defense of industrial property.

During his activity he has dealt with important cases, in Italy and abroad, relating to all branches of industrial law, in particular trademarks and domain names , patents for inventions and models, industrial design and denominations of origin, and addressing several times problems of an international nature and with cross-border aspects .

Involved in some of the most important IP litigations of the last 25 years, in 1999 he obtained the first Italian judgment on the subject of biotech patents and in 2004 the first Italian decision recognizing the validity of a patent for computer implemented invention and between 2005 and 2012 granted some of the most innovative and advanced measures to protect industrial secrecy and renowned brands and for the repression of look-alikes , including the ruling of the European Court of Justice which obliged the Italian government to protect more effectively industrial design. Author of an impressive number of publications on all aspects of intellectual property, he has recently directed the largest (4,000 pages) commentary on all the national and EU regulations on the subject (GALLI-GAMBINO, “Commented Code of Industrial and Intellectual Property” , Turin, UTET-Wolters Kluwer, 2011). Since 2004 he has always been one of the experts designated by the Parliament and the Government who have prepared the reforms of IP law, including the Italian implementation of Directive no. 2004/48 / EC and the 2010 reform of the Industrial Property Code, and is currently Legal Expert at the Presidency of the CNAC-National Anti-Counterfeiting Council and member of the European Counterfeiting and Piracy Observatory established within DG Marktof the European Commission, now EU Observatory on infringements of IP rights at the EUIPO, in addition to collaborating on a permanent basis with INDICAM, Confindustria, AIPPI and AmCham on IP issues.
