Juan Jiménez-Laiglesia joined Pérez-Llorca as a partner in 2018.

Prior to this, Juan was a senior partner for Competition Law at a Big Four firm, working in the Competition Law practice area in the Madrid office. He was also senior partner of the International Competition Law practice area in another prestigious international firm.

Experience

As a lawyer and economist Juan specialises in EU Law, Regulatory Law and Defence of Competition Law. He has practised law in Brussels and Madrid.

Juan has considerable experience in joint ventures, strategic alliances and mergers and acquisitions (both from a notifying and third party perspective). He is also an expert in matters of abuse of dominant position, cartel investigations and State Aid procedures before the European Commission, the EU Courts, the Competition Authorities and the Spanish Courts.

Academic and Publishing Collaborations

Juan regularly participates in seminars and conferences as an expert in European Law and Competition. He also collaborates on specialised magazines and press and has published a wide variety of articles and works related to his areas of expertise. He is currently lecturing on Competition Law, Competition Economics and European Law at ICADE, ESADE, ISDE and IE.
