Sophie Laguesse’s principal field of activity is the structuring and formation of private equity, real estate, infrastructure and debt funds under the form of regulated or non-regulated vehicles.
Sophie has in-depth experience of advising on all aspects of these alternative investment funds including on the structuring and documentation of carried interest and co-investment schemes and the negotiation of fund leverage facilities.
Sophie also advises private equity firms and real estate funds on joint venture projects, corporate reorganisations and corporate governance matters.
Career and memberships
Member of the Private Equity & Venture Capital Funds Committee and of the Infrastructure Committee of ALFI (Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry).
Member of the Debt Funds Committee and the Promotion Committee of the LPEA (Luxembourg Private Equity and Venture Capital Association).
Co-head of the Legal & Regulatory Committee of the ILA (Institut Luxembourgeois des Administrateurs) from 2010 to 2016.
Member of the Luxembourg Bar since 1999.
Magister in Rechte from the Universität Trier (Germany).
Licence en droit from the Université de Liège (Belgium).
