Amit Khansaheb is a Partner in the General Corporate practice of Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas. Amit has over 20 years of experience and specialises in Mergers & Acquisitions, Private Equity, Co-Investments, Joint Ventures as well as Public M&A.

Amit advises clients across a variety of industries including IT & ITES, software, logistics, micro-finance, manufacturing, technology, internet, thermal and renewable energy and business process outsourcing, on a whole range of issues including corporate governance, transaction structuring, FEMA, Securities laws (including SEBI), and employment related issues.

Among others, some of Amit’s recent and marquee transactions include: representation of Byju’s in its USD 540 million investment by Naspers & CPPIB, representing Times Internet Limited and Gaana.com in their USD 100 million fund raise from Tencent, representing BookMyShow in multiple rounds of funding including their latest USD 100 million fund raise from TPG and Network 18, representing the Khemka family in their USD 75 million (approx.) sale of securities in Bazaar Kolkata to a consortium of Private Equity buyers, representing JM Financial in their stake sale to Blackstone as part of the USD 300 million investment by Blackstone into Sona BLW as well as representing the stakeholders (Ashok Munjal) in the USD 120 million stake sale to Kedaara Capital.

Amit has a strong client base that includes Byju’s, JM Financial, BookMyShow, Lightspeed, Continuum Energy, SAIF Partners, Avendus Capital, O3 Capital, Lok Capital, Rivigo among other international and domestic funds;

Amit has been ranked as one of the top 15 APAC legal advisers in 2018 by Mergermarkets, in deal volume.  Amit has been ranked as a Band 2 lawyer by Chambers and Partners in Corporate & M&A since 2015 and is currently ranked Band 2 in Venture Capital.
