Reform articles 29 and 38 of the “Law Against Sexual Harassment in Employment and Teaching”

On October 6, 2021, the Executive Branch signed the reform of articles 29 and 38 of the “Law Against Sexual Harassment in Employment and Teaching” (Law 7476), which was published in La Gaceta on October 20, 2021.

With this amendment, article 38 of this law establishes a new deadline for filing a complaint, which was extended to 8 years. For minors, the period will begin to be computed from the time they reach the age of majority.

Article 29 was also amended, which refers to the claim for harassing minors and indicates that for non-judicial accusations, minors may file the complaint by any means, in an expeditious manner, without delays due to requirements and without the need for legal representation.
