Sustainability is a topic on the global agenda. Through governments, private companies, multilaterals and other stakeholders, they have promoted various initiatives to combat climate change. The aviation industry is not far behind, with governments, ICAO, IATA, ALTA, CLAC and of course the private sector as major players, being these key players in reducing Co2 emissions and mitigating the impacts of the industry on the environment. Annual passenger numbers are expected to grow by up to 6.9 billion by 2035, meaning action to reduce carbon emissions is essential to ensure the industry’s sustainable development.
