A free zone is a geographical area delimited within the National Customs Territory (“TAN”), where industrial activities of goods and services, or commercial activities are carried out.

Types of free zones

In Colombia there are three (3) types of free zones, namely:

  • Permanent (multi-company): in which multiple industrial or commercial users are installed.
  • Special permanent (single company): in which a single industrial user is installed.
