The European Parliament has given the green light to the Digital Markets Act1, one of the cornerstones of the European Commission’s future legislative framework (“A Europe fit for the digital age”) to strengthen Europe’s digital sovereignty. The Digital Markets Act is emerging as a pioneering regulation that will regulate the power that the big platforms, acting as gatekeepers, exercise over the digital market. It is due to enter into force next October.
