Arbitration of Patent Disputes and the Agreement on a Unified Patent Court

On 1 June 2023, the Unified Patent Court Agreement (UPCA) will enter into force, to which Switzerland is not a signatory. The UPCA not only creates the Unified Patent Court (UPC), but also establishes a Patent Mediation and Arbitration Centre (PMAC). This triggers the question as to the PMAC’s impact on international patent-related arbitration in Switzerland. Read more in our newsletter.
