A bill to amend Mexico’s Mining Law, National Waters Law, General Law of Ecological Balance and Environmental Protection and the General Law for the Prevention and Integral Management of Waste was approved by the House of Representatives on April 20, 2023.
The main purpose of the bill, as provided for under the statement of purposes, is to “recover the state’s control over the mineral and water resources found in the Mexican subsoil and which are the direct domain of the nation.”
