New Perimeter and Mexico Appleseed promote pro bono culture in Mexico

Back to All Thought Leadership

LA Piper, through our nonprofit affiliate New Perimeter, continues to assist legal nonprofit Mexico Appleseed in its mission of furthering a sustainable pro bono culture and network in Mexico.

Among their collaborative pro bono work, DLA Piper Mexico, S.C. and Mexico Appleseed have provided legal assistance the Mexican Pro Bono Network, delivered seminars to law students from the Universidad Panamericana (UP), and contributed to the Unaccompanied Minor Project.

In August, Mexico Appleseed launched the Manual on Transparency and Anti-Corruption Best Practices for Civil Society Organizations. The project, which was funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), is the first effort to promote transparency practices for civil society organizations (CSOs) in Mexico.

This initiative was made possible in part by DLA Piper’s financial support for the development of a corresponding interactive tool that will enable CSOs to learn about transparency and the prevention of corrupt practices in an easy and engaging manner.
