The transaction closed on 6 October for an undisclosed amount.
The acquisition gives Brown-Forman the Venezuelan company’s production line, including sugar cane and distillation assets as well as three ranges of rum. It also hands the buyer Diplomático’s distillery in Panama.
Distillers United Group will continue to oversee the operations of Diplomático’s distillery in Venezuela.
Brown-Forman will add Diplomático to its expansive portfolio of brands, which includes Jack Daniel’s, Gin Mare and Chambord. The US alcohol giant was incorporated in 1870.
The D’Empaire team included partners Fulvio Italiani, José H. Frías, Victorino Márquez Ferrer and José Manuel Valecillos, and associates Giancarlo Carrazza, Daniel Bustos Novak, Ornella Bernabei and Enrico Giganti Castro.
