Chicago Office Adds Lawyers and Moves to New Downtown Location

CHICAGO — Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP, a full-service national law firm, is pleased to announce the addition of four attorneys to its Chicago office, as well as a new downtown address.

“We are thrilled to welcome these new attorneys to the firm, where we believe they will have a significant impact and help us grow our Chicago office and further strengthen our presence in the Midwest,” said Scott McMillin, Nelson Mullins’ Chicago managing partner.

McMillin and fellow attorneys Justin Barker, Dawn Beery and Matt Nirider established the office in April 2023. They previously worked at Benesch.

Joining Nelson Mullins in Chicago this month [in July] are:

  • Alison Cooney, of counsel, is a litigator whose practice includes products liability, toxic torts, consumer fraud, privacy claims, intellectual property, white-collar criminal defense and government investigations. She has experience representing pharmaceutical companies, medical device manufacturers, and consumer product manufacturers in class actions and federal multi-district litigation.
  • Grace Burner, associate, has experience in civil litigation involving medical malpractice, wrongful death, hospitality, construction and general civil liability.
  • Gregory Emry, associate, has experience in commercial litigation, toxic torts, premises and products liability and contracts.
  • Gilberto Gonzalez, associate, has experience in professional liability matters, government, appellate and commercial litigation.

In addition, the Chicago office has moved to a new building, located at 123 N. Wacker Drive, Suite 2100, Chicago, Ill. 60606, effective June 28, 2023.
