Healthcare Attorney Christine Worthen Joins Nelson Mullins in Boston

BOSTON – National law firm Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough announced today that it has expanded its national healthcare practice with the arrival of Christine Burke Worthen as a partner. Worthen focuses her practice on providing legal and strategic advice to healthcare providers and will be located in their Boston office.

Worthen joins from Northern Light Health, where she was vice president and senior counsel. She has broad experience working on matters pertaining to Medicare reimbursement, participation in CMS Innovation Center payment models, managed care contract negotiations, and value-based payment arrangements. Worthen also addresses privacy and security issues under HIPAA and the Part 2 regulations and other regulatory issues. With 20 years of experience providing ERISA counsel to employers, Worthen provides relevant advice to clients on retirement, compensation, and other benefit plans. She has represented clients in government audits by the IRS and the Department of Labor, and assisted clients with other regulatory aspects of self-insured health plans, such as HIPAA, COBRA, Mental Health Parity, the No Surprises Act, and the Affordable Care Act.
