The firm is saddened to announce the passing of Alan Cummings, retired partner and friend of Smith Currie Oles.
Alan began his career as a construction attorney in Florida with Holland & Knight in the late 1970’s, later starting his own firm in the mid-1980’s where he was the lead partner until merging with Smith Currie in 2001. Known for his unique ability to get to the heart of a matter and quickly craft a strategy, Alan was unceasingly curious and inquisitive, which served him well in the practice of law.
Alan took retirement seriously. He stopped practicing law in 2012 and spent his time traveling and spending time with the true loves of his life, his children and grandchildren. Alan will be missed, and we express our sincerest sympathy to his entire family.
