Strategy takes Guatemala to new markets

Back to All Thought Leadership

Turkey, Belarus, Kenya, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, and Canada are part of the internationalization strategy of markets that now consume food and beverages produced in the country, which has led to exports of more than $2.3 million in 2021, according to the Guatemalan Exporters Association (Agexport). Agexport’s Food and Beverages Commission, made up of the processed food, confectionery, canned food, beverages, and pet food subsectors, generated more than 100,000 direct jobs and around 400,000 indirect jobs last year. Buyers from the United States, Mexico, and Central America see Guatemala as an excellent supplier of high-quality food and beverages at more competitive prices.
