Law Amending the Law on the Regulation of Electronic Commerce (Amendment Law), which envisaged significant changes within the e-commerce legislation, was published in the Official Gazette on 7 July 2022.
The Amendment Law introduced the concepts of electronic commerce intermediary service provider and electronic commerce service provider and set forth comprehensive regulations covering electronic commerce marketplaces, data, unfair commercial practices and licensing. A transition period had been envisaged which will continue until 1 July 2025. In this context, the Amendment Law will enter into force on 1 January 2023, excluding some of its provisions. To
